When undergoing an alcohol detoxification, both the doctor and the patient should prepare themselves because this could be a complicated process once it's not done right. The patient has to drink a lot of water, as his body would seek the ample amount of liquids it used to have from alcoholic drinks. Some may experience hallucinations and sweating during the procedure but these are just natural after effects of the approach. Families and friends need to stand by the patient as at this point the dependent needs to be assured that his decision of quitting is right and every painful process that he has to go through are worth all the sacrifice.
