Here is a good example of the ‘truth” about American military adventures: Perhaps some of you remember the recent military coup in Honduras, wherein the elected President of Honduras was forcibly removed from office by the military, many of whom were trained at WHINSEC, previously known as the School of the Americas, here at Ft. Benning, GA. At the time, the protests from the US government RE: the coup, were weak. Today, the US government appears to have gotten over their discomfort with the military coup, as they have three bases in Honduras. This, my friends, is what is known as imperialism. The location might be Vietnam, Iraq, or elsewhere in the world, but the beast that is US imperialism remains the same.

True, yet it seems the only thing learned was that the warmongers decided to forego the draft for future wars.

Pretty clear that this war has a long half life. I learn a great deal about the sentiments and non spin history from the comments here. However, most of those who were exposed to Agent Orange do not whine. They are dead. Others of us will live with the symptoms until we die of them. I do not know any whiners.

Unfortunately it is true that since I’m a law abiding citizen I have been required to contribute for bombs, napalm, poisons etc.

That doesn’t mean I supported it or am proud of the veterans who slaughtered helpless women and children, and I don’t go around whining that I breathed in a little poison while I was dumping it on them and asking for special favors because killing kids was ok with me.

This is nothing new. For the last 10 years the Socialist Republic of Vietnam have released an abundance of de-classified document regarding the war and make it crystal clear about Ha Noi intentions. Please check out the new book called “Black April: The Fall of South Vietnam, 1973-75″ by George J Veith.
